1925 ~ DAVIS ~ 2014Dr. Allen N. “Doc” Davis of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of the late Adelaide Davis, passed away on Wednesday, September 24th, 2014 at the age of 89 years. He leaves to cherish his memory his family, Margaret (David) Hadley, Bob (Deb) Davis, and Cameron Davis (Joanne Birtz); and special nephew, Ross (Joan) Brigden. 1946 ~ GAETZ ~ 2014Robert Gaetz, beloved husband of Penny Gaetz of Medicine Hat, passed away on Wednesday, September 24th, 2014 at the age of 68 years. Robert leaves to cherish his memory his son, Kyle Gaetz; five brothers, Joe (Ruth), Raymond (Gladys), Pius (Francis), Leo (Johanne), and James (Rachel); three sisters, Kay Bowes, Sister Bernadette “Theresa” Gaetz, and Shirley (Howard) Sharpe; two brothers-in-law, Frank Besplug and Peter (Naomi) Simpson; two sisters-in-law, Nancy (Bob) Webster and Wendy Hughes; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by his parents, Christian and Mary; one brother, Martin (Rose); one sister, Rosemarie Besplug; one brother-in-law, Basil Bowes; one sister-in-law, Audrey Heidenger; and Penny’s parents, Pete and Audrey Simpson. Robert was born and raised in Medicine Hat. He worked for Alberta Wheat Pool before becoming employed with the City of Medicine Hat working at the Power Plant for 27 years until his retirement. He also farmed southwest of Medicine Hat for the past 21 years. Robert married Penny Simpson on April 12th, 1971 at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church. His love of farming was surpassed only by the love for his family. He was very sociable and loved visiting with old and new friends alike. Robert will be deeply missed by all his family and friends. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Monday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be said at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL on Monday, September 29th, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. 1970 ~ WOODY WOODHOUSE ~ 2014Woody (Keith) Allan Woodhouse, amazing husband of Tara Stricker of Medicine Hat, passed away on Tuesday, September 23rd, 2014 at the age of 44 years. Keith also leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Allan (Sue) Woodhouse and Janet Woodhouse; his Nan; parents-in-law, Edgar (Darlene) Stricker; sister-in-law, Sasha (Mark) Stricker-Kennedy; niece, Maya; nephew, Zen; family, Irene (David) Woodhouse; all his adopted Canadian family, the Lehr’s; his dog, Bramble; as well as his many friends and colleagues. Keith was predeceased by his grandfather, Walter Woodhouse. Keith served as a Staff Sergeant with the Royal Army Ordnance Corps and RLC, retiring after 24 years of service. He also worked as a Correction Officer with the Medicine Hat Remand Centre for 2 and a half years. Keith loved outdoor activities including, paragliding, skiing and snorkeling. He was a student of Jiu jitsu at the Bujinkan School. Keith will be remembered for his love of dogs and his unique laugh and sense of humour. HADLER, Derwood (Dirk) BrentBorn February 15, 1935 in Swift Current SK, Dirk passed away on September 19, 2014 at the age of 79 years. Dirk was a pilot and also worked for the Alberta Oil Sands Environmental Research Program. He enjoyed riding his Harley’s and was an active member of the Model Aircraft Assoc. of Canada, Lions Club, Royal Canadian Legion and the West Kelowna Yacht Club. Sadly, he was predeceased by his wife June in 1998, his parents Vic and Thelma, mother-in-law Winnie Booth and his brother-in-law Walter Knol. Dirk will be greatly missed by his children; Darwin (Penni), Deb, Darcy, Denton (Tanya) and their families. He will also be missed by his siblings Del (Marian) his sister Cheri Knol, brothers-in-law George Booth and Doug Booth. A Celebration of Life was held on September 27, 2014. HECKENLIABLEHarry Lloyd Heckenliable – Born April 19, 1941 in Medicine Hat, Alberta passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 24, 2014 after a very long illness.
Left to mourn his passing are two siblings, Elaine (Heckenliable) Berg and Don Heckenliable, both of Calgary. Also grieving his passing is his daughter Anna Rogers and his grand-daughter April, his life partner Marilyn Jones along with her children Michael and Brian and her grandchildren Matthew and Jason.
Uncle Harry will be missed by his niece Traci (Berg) Handford, her husband Jaicon and their children Madison and Emma, his nephew Daniel Berg and his wife Michelle and their children Grace, Jacob and Joshua.
Harry was predeceased by his father Art in August 1966 and by his mother Emma in February 1993. Harry also leaves behind his aunts, an uncle and many cousins.
In his youth, Harry was an avid golfer and won numerous trophies in many tournaments in Medicine Hat. Coming from a very musical family, he played drums and the electric base guitar in rock bands and in country music groups. He performed in many clubs and for many private dances and weddings. He was a successful entrepreneur and enjoyed his work until his retirement.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff and caregivers at Hillcrest Extendicare Centre in Calgary with special recognition to Nurse Donna – an angel among us.
There will be a private celebration of Harry’s Life.

With heavy hearts the family of Laurie Lynn Sherwood, beloved wife of the late Glenn Paul Piche, announce her sudden passing in Medicine Hat on Saturday, September 20, 2014, at the age of 47 years. Laurie was born on February 6, 1967 in Hamilton, Ontario. She will be lovingly remembered in the hearts of her daughter, Randi Lianne Mallett (Catlin) her grand-daughters, Brianna and Bailey; sister, Stephanie Corrinne Sherwood; brother, Kenneth Sherwood as well as numerous extended family and friends. Laurie was predeceased by her husband, Glenn; mother, Carol Lynn Musat and father, Melbourne Kenneth Sherwood. A time of visitation will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Monday, September 29, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. The Celebration of Laurie’s life will be held at Christ The King Assembly, 1101 Queen Street S.E., Medicine Hat, on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Mark Borrows officiating. A Private Interment will be held later in the week at St. Margaret’s Cemetery, Elk Water, Alberta.

RANDALL GEORGE SINGH
Randall George Singh, beloved son of Cathy and Johnne Singh, passed away suddenly on September 15, 2014. Randy leaves to cherish his memory along with his parents, 3 sisters, Wanda (Warren) Stuber, Brenda (Gerry) Hemminger, Sharon Wick (Brad Stoski) and one bother, David (Faith) Singh. Also numerous nieces and nephews, special friend Karen McDaniel and best friend Chris Reed. Randy was born in Calgary and grew up in Medicine Hat, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1998. He enjoyed warm weather and was an excellent gardener. Having mastered carpentry, he never went for long without a project of his own or helping out a friend. Randy was proud to be a mensa member and also was a music lover which he sometimes enjoyed… really loud. He was an avid sports fan of basketball, football and Nascar Racing. He also loved dogs, especially his great danes that were a large part of his life. Randy will be missed by Mango, Cash and Mickey, the mutt he rescued. At his request, Randy was cremated and remains in the deep South.
