1925 ~ DAVIS ~ 2014Dr. Allen N. “Doc” Davis of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of the late Adelaide Davis, passed away on Wednesday, September 24th, 2014 at the age of 89 years. He leaves to cherish his memory his family, Margaret (David) Hadley, Bob (Deb) Davis, and Cameron Davis (Joanne Birtz); and special nephew, Ross (Joan) Brigden. 1933 ~ BAUER ~ 2014After a brief and unexpected illness, Hildegard Bauer (nee Ochsner) went to be with her precious Lord and Saviour on September 23rd, 2014. Hildegard was born to Oscar and Lydia Ochsner in Romania on June 29th, 1933. She came to Canada after the war and found her lifelong partner of 62 years, Marvin Bauer. They raised four daughters; Arlene (Don) May, Marilyn (Ken) Olfert, Linda (Norm) Wever, and Sonya (Kurt) Smith. The four daughters blessed them with fifteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Hildegard was an active member of her church and the community of Bow Island. She faithfully volunteered to sing at the Auxillary, led pioneer girls at the church and often taught Sunday School. From 1986 to 2013 she owned Treasure Island Products in Bow Island. She will be remembered for her incredible faith and devotion to her family and to her Lord Jesus. With great joy she introduced several friends to her Saviour. Hildegard is predeceased by her parents, Lydia and Oscar; and one grandchild, Angela. She is survived by her husband; her daughters and their families; as well as her siblings, Lilli Hirch, Harry Ochsner, Harold Ochsner, and Erwin Ochsner. The Funeral Service will be held at the BOW ISLAND EVANGELICAL FREE CHURCH, 214 – 4th Avenue West, on Saturday, September 27th, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Larry Dye officiating. 1936 ~ CARTER ~ 2014Martin “Roy” Carter of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of the late Shirley Carter, passed away on Thursday, September 18th, 2014 at the age of 78 years. Roy leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Rhonda (Ron) Wilson of Medicine Hat and Lisa (Steven) Carless of Strathmore; four grandchildren, Kelcie and Kennedy Wilson, Delaney and Shane Carless; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Maxine Stockberger. Roy was predeceased by his wife, Shirley in 2005; his parents, Stanley and Kathleen Carter; two sisters, Joyce Gehring and Dorothy Woyciehouski; and two brothers, Lloyd and Albert Carter. Roy was born on July 19th, 1936 in Provost, Alberta and began working with AGT in 1956. In June 1962, he transferred to Banff but returned to Medicine Hat in May of 1963. Roy married Shirley Firus on February 8th, 1964. He was a boy scout leader volunteering and selling Christmas trees. Roy was also the President of the Medicine Hat Figure Skating Club and worked at the Crescent Heights Car Wash and especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s ringette games, gymnastics competitions, and soccer games. He moved to his River Ridge condo in July of 2012. Roy was very handy and was considered to be a “Mr. Fix It” who wasn’t afraid to try anything. He enjoyed being in his workshop, building small projects, and genealogy. He was recently the equipment manager of the Medicine Hat Ringette Association. Roy will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and at the CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS, 1865 Division Avenue North, on Saturday from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at the CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS on Saturday, September 27th, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with Bishop George Schow presiding. Interment will follow in the Family Plot at Hillside Cemetery. 1970 ~ WOODY WOODHOUSE ~ 2014Woody (Keith) Allan Woodhouse, amazing husband of Tara Stricker of Medicine Hat, passed away on Tuesday, September 23rd, 2014 at the age of 44 years. Keith also leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Allan (Sue) Woodhouse and Janet Woodhouse; his Nan; parents-in-law, Edgar (Darlene) Stricker; sister-in-law, Sasha (Mark) Stricker-Kennedy; niece, Maya; nephew, Zen; family, Irene (David) Woodhouse; all his adopted Canadian family, the Lehr’s; his dog, Bramble; as well as his many friends and colleagues. Keith was predeceased by his grandfather, Walter Woodhouse. Keith served as a Staff Sergeant with the Royal Army Ordnance Corps and RLC, retiring after 24 years of service. He also worked as a Correction Officer with the Medicine Hat Remand Centre for 2 and a half years. Keith loved outdoor activities including, paragliding, skiing and snorkeling. He was a student of Jiu jitsu at the Bujinkan School. Keith will be remembered for his love of dogs and his unique laugh and sense of humour. With heavy hearts the family of Laurie Lynn Sherwood, beloved wife of the late Glenn Paul Piche, announce her sudden passing in Medicine Hat on Saturday, September 20, 2014, at the age of 47 years. Laurie was born on February 6, 1967 in Hamilton, Ontario. She will be lovingly remembered in the hearts of her daughter, Randi Lianne Mallett (Catlin) her grand-daughters, Brianna and Bailey; sister, Stephanie Corrinne Sherwood; brother, Kenneth Sherwood as well as numerous extended family and friends. Laurie was predeceased by her husband, Glenn; mother, Carol Lynn Musat and father, Melbourne Kenneth Sherwood. RANDALL GEORGE SINGH
Randall George Singh, beloved son of Cathy and Johnne Singh, passed away suddenly on September 15, 2014. Randy leaves to cherish his memory along with his parents, 3 sisters, Wanda (Warren) Stuber, Brenda (Gerry) Hemminger, Sharon Wick (Brad Stoski) and one bother, David (Faith) Singh. Also numerous nieces and nephews, special friend Karen McDaniel and best friend Chris Reed. Randy was born in Calgary and grew up in Medicine Hat, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1998. He enjoyed warm weather and was an excellent gardener. Having mastered carpentry, he never went for long without a project of his own or helping out a friend. Randy was proud to be a mensa member and also was a music lover which he sometimes enjoyed… really loud. He was an avid sports fan of basketball, football and Nascar Racing. He also loved dogs, especially his great danes that were a large part of his life. Randy will be missed by Mango, Cash and Mickey, the mutt he rescued. At his request, Randy was cremated and remains in the deep South.
