1921 ~ BUECKERT-AITKEN ~ 2014
Ella Bueckert-Aitken passed away peacefully at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Friday, July 11th, 2014. Ella leaves to mourn her passing four children, Barry (Norma) Bueckert, Lorna (Lloyd) Veenstra, Greg (Shelly) Bueckert and Chris Weiss; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Norma Genert; one sister-in-law, Betty Rempel; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ella was predeceased by her parents, Rudolph and Annetta Weiss; three sisters, Lydia Gerein, Esther Guminy and Helen Bliss; one brother, Lenard Weiss; her first husband, Edward Bueckert; and her second husband, Elmer Aitken. Ella was born in Kuest, Saskatchewan and moved to Schuler, Alberta with her family when she was four years old. She moved to Medicine Hat as a teenager to care for her ailing grandmother. It was there she met Edward Bueckert whom she married in 1940. She and Ed owned and operated Redcliff Building Supply Company until Ed’s passing in 1975. Ella also worked at the Redcliff Greenhouses for a number of years tending to the roses. Ella traveled extensively after Ed’s passing and moved to Veinerville in 1989. She married Elmer Aitken in 1995. Ella was alsoa 50 year member of the Ladies Auxillary, Royal Canadian Legion, Redcliff branch #6 Ella was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed bowling, traveling, reading, playing darts, going to bingo, and spending time with her family. She was always supportive and encouraging and will be sorely missed by her family. A Celebration of Ella’s Life will be held at Christ The King Assembly, 1101 Queen Street SE, on Wednesday, July 23rd, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Mark Borrows officiating. 1955 ~ HART ~ 2014The family of Donald F. Hart Jr. are very saddened to announce his passing on April 20th, 2014, in Medicine Hat, Alberta, at the age of 59 years after a tough battle with cancer. Don leaves behind his loving wife, Elisabeth; his three children, Maggie, Justin, and Lori; his parents, Donald Sr. and Frances Hart; his sisters, Lynn (George) Myette and Peggy (Larry) Schlenker; his brother-in-law, Bob Senekowitsch; his niece, Jenny (Dale) Howe; his nephews, Brad Schlenker and Jason VanBuskirk; as well as many treasured aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Don was predeceased by his grandparents, Walter and Hilda Hutchison, Jack and Opal Hart; and his nephew, Boyd Schlenker. Don Hart Jr. was born on May 18th, 1955, into a third generation ranching family Northeast of Medicine Hat. He later took over the family ranch raising purebred Hereford cattle and was a member of the Medicine Hat Stampede Board, Drowning Ford Grazing Association, and Southern Alberta Purebred Beef Breeders Association. Don enjoyed 4-H for many years as a beef member in his youth as well as a leader and active 4-H parent later in his life. Don loved working with cattle but he also took advantage of his analytical mind by taking Business at the University of Lethbridge and working for several local businesses. Don enjoyed photography, computers, going out for lunch with friends, and travelling, and his trip to Australia and New Zealand was one that he cherished forever. Don spent countless hours with his family watching hockey, going riding, puttering around the yard, and sitting on the porch drinking coffee. Don loved his family very much and his world revolved around spending time with them. He will be dearly missed by all of his family, relatives, and friends. The Funeral Service will be held at Glenview Church of the Nazarene, 4072 Strachan Road SE, on Friday, July 25th, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Barrett Scheske officiating. A Private Interment will take place at St. Margaret’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Don’s memory may be made to the Margery E. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Tammy Street of Unity, Susanne (Bryce) Jensen of Two Hills and Jennifer Rath of Blackfalds; his parents, Edward and Marjorie Rath of Elkwater; three grandchildren, Trista, Taelyn and Zoey; two brothers, Kelvin Rath and Keith Rath (fiancé Christie Radke) as well as nieces and nephews, Trisha and Clayton, and Ryan and Amanda. He was predeceased by one brother, Terry Rath in 1959.
