DIRKJohn Dirk passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at the age of 85 years beloved husband of the late Margaret Dirk. He leaves to cherish his memory three sons, James Dirk, Stewart (Shelley) Dirk, Merlin (Mary) Dirk and one daughter, Allana (Kelly) Lannan; seven grandchildren, Chelsea and Braven Dirk; Nathan, Natasha and Shaylyn Dirk; Brandon and Keanna Lannan and his special friend, Loretta Miller. He is also survived by two sisters, Victoria Hepfner and Violet (Leroy) Rayburn; six sisters-in-law, Katie Dirk, Veroncia Dirk, Ann (Frank) Hepfner, Magdalena (Roland) Gelinas, Irene Koch and Josephine Koch; one brother-in-law, Tony (Tina) Koch as well as numerous nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his wife Margaret in 2005; his parents, Romanus and Molly Dirk; three brothers, Joe Dirk, Louis Dirk and Tony Dirk; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Natalie Koch; three brothers-in-law, Joe Hepfner, Raymond Koch and Peter Koch and one sister-in-law, Irene Dirk. John was born on December 31, 1928 on the family farm near Liebenthal, Saskatchewan, where he was raised. On November 11, 1952 he married Margaret Koch and they farmed in the Fox Valley area until retiring to Medicine Hat in 1988. Dad enjoyed farming, going to auction sales and doing mechanical work in his garage. He will be sadly missed by family and friends. Those who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 9:30 – 10:25 a.m. Family and friends will gather for prayers in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated in Holy Family Parish (1451 Strachan Road SE) on Friday, July 4, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Philip Le celebrant. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. Henry J. Wong passed away peacefully at the St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at the age of 65 years. Henry is survived by his mother, Kam Oy Wong; a sister, Lily Wong and a brother Barry Wong; a nephew, Nathan and two nieces, Natalie and Kamelia. He was predeceased by his father, Lucky Wong and a sister, Trevina. LIPPERTEsther Bertha Lippert of Raymond passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at the age of 90 years. She leaves to cherish her memory one sister, Ella Heilman as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Christian and Bertha Lippert; her brothers, Otto, Emil and Ray; one sister, Emma Schock and one nephew, Dale. Esther was born in Hilda, Alberta where she was raised. She was educated at the Fairview School on the Schock farm. She grew up on the family farm, the eldest of seven children. Later, she moved to Raymond and resided here until her passing. Esther will be sadly missed by the staff at Raymond Good Samaritan’s Society, where she spent many happy years. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday, from 10:00 – 10:55 a.m. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Life Celebrant, David Townsend.
