1959 ~ JACOBER ~ 2014Leslie Gwenith Jacober, beloved wife of Wayne Jacober of Medicine Hat, passed away on Sunday, June 22nd, 2014 at the age of 54 years. Leslie also leaves to cherish her memory her children, Jeffrey Jacober of Medicine Hat, Jillian (Mark) Goldsmid of Canberra, Australia, and Jessie Campbell of Medicine Hat; six granddaughters, Amy McCabe, Ella, Hayley and Katlyn Goldsmid, and Nellie and Farren Campbell; three sisters, Kathy (Brian) Romaniuk, Shirley (Brett) Gordon, both of Medicine Hat, and Bev Masters (Garry Moore) of Swift Current; numerous nieces and nephews; her special group of friends; and her little companions, Sophie and Molley. Leslie was predeceased by her parents, Reginald and Beverley Masters. Mom had the ability to make everyone feel welcome and comfortable. She had an uncanny and witty sense of humour, but most of all she was the most loyal and compassionate wife, friend, mother and aunt. Leslie was always the first to give advice and be a listening ear to anyone. When she was blessed with 6 granddaughters they became the lights of her life. Though at times she was physically unable to care for them she still nurtured them and made sure they were loved. She had special companions Sophie and Molley who kept her company during lonely times.
It’s been a long road and a hard fight. Towards the end, mom never wanted to be alone and she was surrounded by her loving sisters and family. She was engaging, outgoing, funny, opinionated, and stubborn to the very end. She was a fighter. Though her body wasn’t able, her mind was always sharp. There will be a hole forever in the hearts of everyone. Special thanks to the numerous nurses, support staff, friends, and family who supported mom. The Funeral Service will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Thursday, June 26th, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. with Gary W. Goran officiating. Interment will follow at Saamis Prairie View Cemetery. A come and go reception will be held at the Saamis Creekside Centre, Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel, following the interment service.
