.Just over one week ago, numerous wonderful memories were shared as Pastor Bob Findley led a congregation of family and friends on a journey of remembrance, celebrating the life of Vernette Smith. Vernette’s family ensured that the service would be a personal farewell. Tributes from the family included words from the heart shared by Gord and Sandy as well as a specially prepared video presentation. Pastor Bob engaged the congregation as he led everyone present in song and prayer as well as an open mic time of sharing that continued on at the luncheon that followed. Later that same day, Vernette was placed to rest next to Doug in the peaceful surroundings of the Bow Island Cemetery.
When remembering her life,
Look beyond your sorrow,
May the strength of memories,
Comfort you each tomorrow.
Her Life Lived…
Her Life Cherished…
Her Life Honoured.

Ron lived his entire life in the Bow Island area. He married his high school sweetheart, Doreen Egan, June 30, 1946, who sadly predeceased him in 1975.
