Mila Romanko, beloved wife of Michal Romanko of Medicine Hat, passed away on Monday, December 9th, 2013 at the age of 85 years. Mila also leaves to cherish her memory her children, John, Berniece, Marlene, Marina, and Roxanne (Kelly “Kell”); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one brother, Tom Moodie. .BENJAMIN SCHNEIDER
1920 ~ 2013
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Benjamin Schneider. Ben passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 7, 2013 at the age of 93 years. Ben was born July 6, 1920 in Fox Valley, Saskatchewan. He served in the Army from 1942 – 1946. Once he returned to Fox Valley he was also known as “The Water Man”, driving school bus, working at the Saskatchewan Minerals Plant all while working on the farm, which always kept him very busy. Ben and Anne moved to Medicine Hat in 1986 and he maintained his active life. Ben will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife of 65 years, Anne Schneider; sister, Tina Hubbs; children, Lyle (Sandy) Schneider, Denise (Cordell) Verweire; daughter-in-law, Gwen Schneider; grandchildren Scott, Stacey (Gerren), Chase, Simon, Amanda (Andrew), Krystal (Brent), eight great grandchildren and hundreds of nieces and nephews. Ben was predeceased by his eldest son, Keith and his siblings, Louise, Phillip, Adam, David, Kate, Charlie, George, Pauline, Martha, Freida and Dan. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., at Victory Lutheran Church, 2793 Southview Drive S.E., with Pastor Joe Leavengood officiating. Donna Bernadette Fandrich passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2013, at the age of 56 years, beloved wife of Gerrard “Gerry” Fandrich of Medicine Hat. She also leaves to cherish her memory three children, Brianne Fandrich (Raymond Murphy), Justin Fandrich and Jason Fandrich; two grandchildren, Austin Murphy and Chase Murphy; one brother-in-law, Mark (Carol) Fandrich; four sisters, Myrna Flaig and her children, Jocelyn, Brock (Michelle Calliou); Patricia Doig and her children, Camile (Tim) Reimer, Ryan (Marnie) Doig; Bonnie Erman and her children, Cody and Kelly; Adeana (Brent) Jesse and several great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Esther and Hilbert Flaig. Donna enjoyed gardening, cooking, spending time within friends and family, especially her grandbabies Austin and Chase. Those who know Donna know her for her laughter, sarcasm and quick wit. .GLASSER – William “Bill” Glasser
Bill Glasser, beloved husband of Angela Glasser passed away in Leader on Fri., Dec. 6, 2013 at the age of 86 years.
Besides his loving wife Angela, he is survived by his children Debbie (Randy) Bauer and granddaughter Trudy Bauer and Sandra (Don) Jensen and his two grandsons Jade (Stacey) and great grandson Casey and Jared (Kim) and great granddaughter Rae.
Bill and Angela farmed in the Sceptre area until their retirement in 1983. Bill loved to golf, hunt and collect guns, play volleyball and was at every auction sale in his farming career.
Bill loved his family dearly and was a wonderful spouse, father and grandfather.
The funeral will be held at the Little Flower Catholic Church in Leader on December 11 at 11 a.m. CST.

Kenneth Roland Lanz, “Uncle Ken” of Medicine Hat, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at the age of 76 years. He leaves to cherish his memory three brothers, George (Lydia) Lanz of Strathmore, Leonard (Marlene) Lanz of Calgary and Harry Lavoie of Peterborough, Ontario; two sisters, Gertie Heitrich of Medicine Hat and Eva Adams of Acme as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Christian and Gertrude Lanz; seven brothers, Arnold, Adam, Peter, Jake, Chris, John and Joe; three sisters, Mary, Florence and Rose. .PIDHIRNEY
Dale Verne Pidhirney passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2013, at the age of 57 years, beloved husband of Josie Pidhirney of Medicine Hat. He was a loving father to Michelle Pidhirney and her daughter Lily and Ashby (Leslie) Pflughaupt and her children, Evan, Aden and Owen. He also leaves to cherish his memory three sisters, Elaine Rudyck, Maxine (Dave) Baskill, and Beverly (John) Mulholland; three brothers, Merv (Earlyne) Pidherney, Wayne Pidhirney and Brian (Juanita) Pidhirney as well as several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Marjorie and Peter Pidhirney and his in-laws, Michael (Lillian) Cairns. Dale was born on July 3, 1956 in Eckville, Alberta and raised in Leslieville, Alberta. After graduation, he moved to Edmonton and worked for a drywall company. In 1974, the company got the bid to do the Veiner Center and that is when Dale came to Medicine Hat. In 1975, after the project was done, Dale decided to stay in Medicine Hat and got a job with Olsen Stucco. Dale became a proud father to his first daughter in 1978, and while raising his daughter he met the love of his life. On November 13, 1982 he married Josie Cairns in Medicine Hat and two years later Dale once again became a proud father. Dale and a friend started Will-do Stucco which they ran as a successful business for many years and in 2006, Dale started Hat Lath and Exteriors. Dale and Josie enjoyed many years travelling and trying new things. He had a sense of adventure; skydiving, bungy jumping and zip lining. He was an avid sports fan – especially the Flames and Stampeders, together they enjoyed many trips to the grey cup. Dale will be missed dearly – he was a wonderful husband, father, papa, brother and friend. The funeral service will be held in Holy Family Parish (Strachan Road SE) on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant, David Townsend. Interment will take place in Leslieville, Alberta at a later date.
