1925 ~ KONDRO ~ 2013Eva Ilona Kondro of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Vodan Kondro, passed away on Saturday, October 19th, 2013 at the age of 88 years. Eva leaves to cherish her memory four children, Gordon of Medicine Hat, Gerald (Eunice) of Edmonton, Geraldine Friess of Medicine Hat, and Gwenyth (Raymond) Noel of St. John, New Brunswick; eight grandchildren, Kyra Kondro (Myles Partington) of Calgary, Brianne Kondro of Edmonton, Corinne (Brad) Tessier of Regina Beach, Theresa Friess of Medicine Hat and her son, Branson, Nathan (Alison) Noel of St. John, Jeffrey Noel of Churchill, Manitoba, Jeremy (Carrieann) Noel of Vancouver and their son, Eli, and Caitlin Noel of St. John and her son, Damien; one brother, Albert (Rossella) Ojala of Eckville, Alberta; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Vodan, Eva was predeceased by her parents, Jacob and Henrietti Ojala; and two sisters. Eva was a caring woman who loved her poodles and orange cats. She also enjoyed travelling and doing word search puzzles. Due to Vodan’s job, Eva and Vodan lived in many communities and enjoyed meeting new people. Eva will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The Graveside Service will be held in SAAMIS PRAIRIE VIEW CEMETERY, 5160 Gershaw Drive SW, on Wednesday, October 23rd, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with Father Philip Le officiating. CUYLERRev. Canon AR Cuyler (Bob), 86, passed away on October 14, 2013 peacefully in his sleep. Bob was born in Medicine Hat Alberta October 12, 1927. He met and married Elenore Lyons (Cuyler) April 13, 1950 in Calgary. She predeceased Bob in 1999, also his daughter Maureen in 2007. He is survived by Brit Walsh spouse of 10 years, his children; Richard, Christine and Robin; grandchildren, Carolyne and Alex.
Father Bob served in Parishes across Canada for the Anglican Church of Canada for over 60 years. Reverend Canon Cuyler served as Director of Diocese Services, founder of Ecuhome, Children’s Aid Society, Scouts Canada and championed many other social justice issues. He will be greatly missed by friends and family. A Funeral Service will be held October 26, 2013 at 11:30am at St. Marys in Nanoose. Burial will follow at St. Edmunds Cemetery at 2:30pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Bobs’ memory to the Anglican Primates World Release Fund.

It is with sadness that the family of Kay, announce her passing while at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Thursday, October 17, 2013, at the age of 83 years. Kay’s memory will be forever treasured in the hearts of her family, daughter, Deborah (Art) Frischke and their children, Julianna (Randy) White, Carl (Erin) Frischke, and their children, Brody & Kaitlyn; son, Ron (Karen) Zielke and their children, Lindsey Ment, and her children, Jayce, Kaden, Nash; Kennedy & Gaelyn Zielke; son, Cliff Zielke and his children, Randene Zielke (Chris White) and their son Alex; and Sarah Zielke. Her faith was strong and she was a member of the United Churches in the many places where she lived. For the past two decades she was a dedicated member of the Gordon Memorial United Church in Redcliff. She made friends easily with her smiling and caring ways and will be missed. The funeral service will be held at Gordon Memorial United Church, 401 – 2 Street S.E., Redcliff, AB., on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Blaine Schaufele officiating. NERLAND, Isabel Magdalena
1935 – 2013In the early morning hours of Saturday, October 19, 2013, Isabel Magdalena Nerland (nee Stappler) passed away in Lethbridge with her family by her side at the age of 78 years. Isabel was born in Bow Island, Alberta on January 17, 1935. She was the first child of a family of four born to Anthony and Magdalena Stappler.
Isabel grew up in the Bow Island area. She attended school in Conquerville and Bow Island. Isabel met her husband Roy when she worked at Maple Leaf Mills. Roy and Isabel married on June 23, 1956 and their union was blessed with three daughters. In Isabel’s later years she worked within the Medicine Hat School District.
She was a faithful Christian and spent 55 years as an active member of the Church of Christ in Medicine Hat. She and her husband Roy raised their 3 daughters to love and serve the Lord. Her Christian influence is prevalent throughout North America, from Alaska, Canada and the tip of the United States in Florida. Years have been spent developing relationships with her Christian family. Not only does her physical family mourn her loss, but also a spiritual one. But a celebration of her strong walk with God is had and remembered by those she left behind.
Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband of 57 years, Roy and her three daughters Iris Frazier, Carol Korsch and Janice Novak. Also left behind are seven grandchildren; Rusty and Ross Frazier, Jordan, Joel, Jonathan and Janine (Worsley) Spiece and Quinton Novak. Isabel has also left her great grandchildren Mary Isabel Frazier (Izzie), Easton Worsley and one great grandchild due in January 2013, Hudson Worsley; as well as one sister; and two brothers.
A Funeral Service will be held for Isabel on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Condolences may be sent through
