Mr. Waldemar Kirlik, beloved husband of Mrs. Rose Kirlik of Medicine Hat, passed away on Wednesday, September 25th, 2013 at the age of 81 years. The Funeral Service will be held today in ST. PETER LUTHERAN CHURCH, 758 – 8th Street SE, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Julianna Wehrfritz-Hanson officiating. Interment will follow in the Family Plot at Hillside Cemetery. Mrs. Adele Schwabe of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Mr. Max Schwabe, passed away on Wednesday, September 25th, 2013 at the age of 75 years. Adele leaves to cherish her memory her children, Rolf (Shirley Ann), Henry (Gwen), Garry (Crystal), Cora (Murray) Heidinger and Arnold (Hieu); six grandchildren, Matthew, Christine (Andy), Jeremy, Alexandra, Nicole and Taylor; one great grandchild, Isabel; two brothers, Helmut (Erna) Gill and Emil (Sandra) Gill; two sisters, Alma (Adolf) Schneider and Hilma (Jakob) Schlenker; one sister-in-law, Caroline Gill; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Max, Adele was predeceased by her parents, Ludwig and Dorothea Gill; three brothers, Waldemar, Arthur and Herbert (in infancy); and one sister, Ella (Oskar) Fried. Adele was born on July 3rd, 1938 in Bessarabia and moved with her family to Canada in 1950 when she was 12. After a short time living in Leader, the Gill family moved to Redcliff. She met Max in 1955 at the greenhouse where he worked. They married in 1957. She worked at Riverview Nursing Home from 1969 until 1972, but always returned to work in the greenhouse. She loved having family get- togethers and one of her greatest memories was a trip to Hawaii with Max in 1978 and to Germany in 1984 where she met Max’s family for the first time. Adele spent numerous hours crocheting and knitting and was extremely adept at it, even making her own patterns at times. Family was everything to Adele, nothing made her happier than when family walked through her door. Adele touched many people with her kind and gentle spirit and they, along with her family, will miss Adele. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Monday, September 30th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, October 1st, from 12:30 until 1:25 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL on Tuesday, October 1st, at 1:30 p.m. with Gary W. Simon “Sam” Goldade, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2013, at the age of 74 years, beloved husband of Barbara Goldade of Medicine Hat. He also leaves to cherish his memory three sons, Shane (Fran) and their children, Sandy, Nathan, Carly, Cassie and Trisha; Scott (Donna) and their son, Braden; Jody (Nicole) and their children, Savannah, Hailey and Bradley; three brothers, Sebastian (Evelyn), Phil (Toni) and George (Margaret); one sister, Barbara (Walter) Eresman; one sister-in-law, Thelma Goldade as well as many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Frances and Frank Goldade; one brother, Mike and one sister, Lucille. Sam was born on June 5, 1939 near Sceptre, Saskatchewan and moved with his family to Redcliff at the age of six where he was raised and educated. On June 20, 1959 he married Barbara Riedlinger in Medicine Hat where together they raised their family. Sam was employed at Domglass for 36 years until the factory closed its doors, at which time he went to work for M.H.S.D. #76 retiring in 1994. He cherished his time spent with his grandkids. He was an avid sports enthusiast, playing hockey and baseball and was a huge fan of the Medicine Hat Tigers, Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Monday, September 30, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant, David Townsend. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. .Gwen Anne Fraser (Lewis)
January 25, 1958 – September 18, 2013

On September 18, 2013 Gwen Fraser passed away peacefully at the St. Joseph’s Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat, AB at the age of 55. Beloved wife of Art Fraser, Gwen leaves to cherish her memory three children: Matthew (Jackie), Lisa (Chris), and Joseph (Brandy); and five grandchildren: KC, Jasmine, Avaya, Alyssa, Maximus and one on the way. Gwen is also survived by her sister, Wendy (Dwayne) Cobler; and brother, Eric Lewis; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Phyllis Lewis. Gwen was born in Fredericton, NB, and moved with her family to Swift Current, SK in 1974, where she met Art in 1977. In 1978 they embarked on a journey to Medicine Hat where she had spent her last 35 years. She had many interests including figure skating, snowmobiling, skiing, scuba diving, bowling, ceramics and collecting antiques. She loved taking photos, fishing, camping, music, dancing and the company of her family and friends. Gwen had a special love for her grandchildren who brought her much joy. She will be truly missed by all those who loved and knew her. Tony Lesmeister passed away peacefully at Medicine Hat General Hospital on September 25th, 2013 at the age of 82 after a brief illness. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated today in HOLY FAMILY PARISH, #1451 Strachan Road SE, at 10:30 a.m. with Father Philip Le, celebrant. Interment will follow in the Roman Catholic Section at Saamis Prairie View Cemetery.
