.BAYER
Fred Adam Bayer passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2013, at the age of 87 years, beloved husband of Helen D. Bayer of Medicine Hat. He also leaves to cherish his memory his children, Lorraine (Bruce) Glasgo, Wayne (Kathy) Bayer and Lyle (Lise) Bayer; six grandchildren, Ryan Glasgo, Curtis (Emily) Glasgo, Ashley Bayer and Kevin Bayer; Cory (Mel) Bayer, Adrienne (Trevor) Brum and their children, Kaylan and Jerika; one brother, Oscar (Marg) Bayer; one sister, Edna Kanewischer; a sister-in-law, Helen Bayer as well as numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Eugena and Oscar Bayer; one brother, Ed Bayer; four sisters, Rosemary Bayer, Beata Bayer, Lily Radke and Louise Plato. Fred was born on September 28, 1925 in Alliance, North Dakota and was raised and educated in the Hilda, Schuler area. He joined the Forces during WWII and served as a guard at the Lethbridge and Medicine Hat P.O.W. camps. During his service time he met Helen Buchholz and they were married on October 17, 1947 in Medicine Hat. They continued their lives together for the next 65 + years. His dream was to farm and in 1952, they purchased a farm west of Seven Persons where they resided for the next ten years. In 1962, the family moved to Medicine Hat and in 1969, Custom Roofing was established. Within a few years both sons, Wayne and Lyle joined and created the family business working together until Dad’s retirement in 1991. Fred and Helen enjoyed many vacations with family and friends. Some memorable destinations included Hawaii, Las Vegas, a Carribean cruise and numerous trips to British Columbia and Arizona. Throughout his lifetime he enjoyed woodworking, fishing and was a fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and Major League Baseball. Dad always looked forward to special occasions spending time with his children and grandchildren. Fred and Helen’s special dedication and love for each other was evident throughout their life together. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday evening, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 12:00 noon – 12:55 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant, David Townsend. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. .THEKLA EHNES
1921 ~ 2013
Thekla Eva Ehnes of Lethbridge Alberta passed away at Edith Cavell Care Centre on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at the age of 91 years.
Thekla was born on a farm near Krupp Saskatchewan and grew up in Prelate Saskatchewan. In 1938 Thekla came to the Faith area and lived with her sister Marge (Joe) Mitzel. On October 03, 1939 Thekla and Pius Ehnes were married at Faith Alberta.
An active life was enjoyed on the farm including farming, driving school bus, CWL, 4-H, gardening, playing cards, local reporter many years for the Bow Island News, entertaining and many visits from friends and family. Mom always enjoyed family gatherings and having her family around her.
Thekla is survived by her two sons and one daughter, Richard (Kathleen), Deborah Henderson and Bernard (Kary), daughters-in-law Christine Ehnes and Janet (Tom) Suley, her older sister Bertha Gust, as well as sisters-in-law Maggie Shade and Ruby Schaff, brother-in-law Gabriel Ehnes and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Grandma is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Patrick (Anne), David, Leslie (Alison), Gene (Jennifer), Dennis, Michele (Jon) Danielson, Christopher (Heather), Ashton, Tyler, and Tennille; great-grandchildren Aliah, Tyra, Keely, Claudia, Braydon, Drew and River.
Sadly, Thekla was predeceased by her husband Pius in 2005 and her two sons Edward in 1988 and Brian in 2010.
For the past seven years Thekla enjoyed her home at Martha’s House in Lethbridge, she will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
Prayers will be held at 7:00pm on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610-4 Street South, Lethbridge.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00pm on Friday, September 20, 2013 in the Foremost Hall at Foremost Alberta with Father Fred Monk, celebrant. Interment will follow at Foremost Cemetery.

.THIESSEN
Gary John Michael Thiessen of Medicine Hat beloved husband of Linda passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with a lengthy illness on September 12, 2012 at the age of 60 years.
Gary was born in Drumheller on February 21, 1953 to John and Margaret Thiessen. Gary attended St. Anthony’sSchool.
Gary worked in underground construction from the age of 18 until the time of his illness. Gary was very interested in sports, but his overall passion was for the “Oilers”. He even created a room in his home filled with “Oiler” Memorabilia.
He leaves to mourn, his loving wife Linda, sons, Mike (Denise), Riley and Sheldon, his sister, Marg, Pat (Merv), Carol (Ian), 12 grandchildren, step children, Robin, Chris , Vicki, his in-laws, Bill and Ruth Adams, Alan and Debbie McRae, Jim Adams and Brenda Schulmeister, and numerous nieces and nephews. Gary was predeceased by his son, Ryan, grandson Braeden in infancey, parents and brother in-law Al Woolsey.
Funeral Services for Gary Thiessen will be held at Courtney Winters Funeral Home(199- 2nd Street West, Drumheller) on Friday September 20, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. with Father Fernando as celebrant.
