Shelley Townsend is proud of her Metis heritage. She is descended from Marguerite Taylor, the second wife of George Simpson, who was the Chief of all Inland Posts for the Hudson’s Bay Company. Three professors at the University of Lethbridge in the Department of Biological Sciences have secured nearly $700,000 in research funding thanks to Results Driven Agriculture Research (RDAR).
