A global study which analyzed almost 500,000 traveller reviews has deemed that Waterton’s Park’s Bear’s Hump has conquered all the rest in being the best view in Canada.
Remitly, a provider of digital financial services, has uncovered Canada’s best-kept-scenic secrets, analyzing over 483,000 reviews across 411 popular attracts. By identifying locations with the highest percentage of positive mentions of the word “view,” the study reveals sights which deserve a spot on every traveller’s bucket list.
Viewpoints which had less than 50 total reviews, or those that had negative reviews or were for another context such as a sports stadium, were omitted from the final results
With 87.7 per cent out of a total 162 reviews having a positive mention of the spectacular birds eye view of lakes and the town below, Bear’s Hump takes the bragging rights for being the “most beautiful, underrated view in Canada.”
This 2.8-kilometre roundtrip hike with 225 metre elevation gain, a short but steep hike is great for beginners and experts alike, taking about an hour and a half to complete.
Some enthusiast attempt at participating in this hike all 12-months of the year, known as the Iron Bear Challenge.
Other Albertan sights making the list include Ha Ling Peak in Canmore with 75.6 per cent positive reviews and Tunnel Mountain Trail in Banff with 74.4 per cent positive ratings on the view.
While Alberta boasts the best view in the country, British Columbia dominated the list with having nine of its views in the top 20 on the list.
