Select People Solutions and Teamworks Career Centre recently announced the results of the Meals on Wheels 23 Days of Christmas Campaign they partnered with the Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization and Cuppers Coffee during the 2024 holidays.
Meals on Wheels Lethbridge is a non-profit organization that has been in operation since 1970, providing hot and nutritious meals delivered by volunteers to the homes of community members who cannot provide for themselves.
Ryan Miller, CEO of Teamwork Training Ltd says support from the community was amazing raising $30,000 and thanks to it Meals on Wheels will be able to provide food for those who continue to rely on them for their daily meals for the whole year.
“The funds raised during the campaign help with operational costs for the year. It covers one third of their operational cost, which allows them to continue to stay open without passing the extra cost to the people who uses the service,” said Miller.
He said this year was very special because ever since the beginning of the campaign they have already sold out their sponsoring days for the whole month of December and they were able to add some extra days into January because of the support from the community.
“To see that immediate response, it’s just really great. And then the Christmas card campaign in Cuppers got their own following, and they sold out quickly as well,” said Miller.
Over the last 16 years, the program has raised an incredible amount of over $374,000.00, a testament to the unwavering support of the community.
“We are deeply grateful to our community partners and supporters who stepped up to make a real difference. The impact of this program has been truly remarkable, and we are proud of what we’ve accomplished together,” said Miller.
He added that they are grateful to every individual, volunteer, and organization that has contributed to this effort.
“Your dedication and generosity have made an immense difference in the lives of so many,” said Miller.
