A 20-year-old Lethbridge man who was released from custody shortly after he was charged last summer with several sex-related offences, is back behind bars.
Sean Cedric Bilo was released following a judicial interim release hearing in June and ordered to comply with numerous conditions. However, he was recently arrested and charged with one count of failure to comply with his release order conditions, and he remains in custody pending a bail hearing or resolution of his charges.
Bilo is accused of luring a 13-year-old girl into his vehicle and sexually assaulting her.
Lethbridge police had been conducting an investigation of a missing teenage girl on June 22, when they found her a short time later in a vehicle at a northside park. Investigators determined the girl had been sexually assaulted while unconscious, and recordings of the assault were distributed on social media.”
The girl was taken to the Chinook Regional Hospital, and a man who was in the vehicle with the girl when she was found, was arrested.
Bilo was charged with sexual assault; sexual interference; making, printing or publishing child pornography; distributing, selling, importing or exporting child pornography; possession of child pornography; invitation to sexual touching; and luring a child under 16 years of age.
During a court hearing last week, Lethbridge lawyer Greg White simply requested an adjournment until next Tuesday, and said his client may enter pleas to his charges.
