The Rotary Club of Lethbridge is getting ready to host their annual Ribfest over the weekend at the Enmax Centre parking lot once again.
Rotary Club of Lethbridge fundraising chair, Nick Nicolacopoulos said Tuesday this year the event will take place Friday to Sunday with the first two days running from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and the last day running from 11 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
“We have four major rib teams coming, we also have the blooming onions team, they do those blooming onions with the dips, there is a corn vendor this year, and we’ve got local vendors like tailgaters doing their drinks and Swirls Ice Cream for ice cream,” he said.
He said they will have a beer garden hosted by the Enmax Centre and live entertainment playing every day.
“We’ll also have duelling DJs on stage. We didn’t do any kids rides this year, we tried but we couldn’t get it all worked out. The event is always kid- friendly because they like to eat,” said Nicolacopoulos.
He said this year the funds raised by Ribfest will once again be going to their Ukrainian Project, which has been helping Ukrainian evacuees settle in Lethbridge.
“Helping them find houses, find clothing, find all the things they need to start a life here. That was part of our major efforts over the last two years. We’ve been settling families and helping Lethbridge Family Services settling Ukrainian evacuees in our community, so that will continue with these funds,” said Nicolacopoulos.
