Lethbridge among cheapest places to rent in Canada

According to a report from Rentals.ca, Lethbridge is among the most affordable cities to rent across the country.
Rent here is hundreds of dollars below average cost nationally and provincially.
With 35 cities from across the country taken into account for the report, Lethbridge ranked 32nd nationally. It was third provincially among four cities.
In their national overview of rental units with one bedroom, which includes apartments, condominiums, houses and townhouses, the average rent price for July 2023 was $1,823. Within that average, Calgary showed a rent price of $1,718, while Lethbridge had an average of $1,168.
One bedroom units in Lethbridge are renting for $550 less than in Calgary and $655 less than the average rent across the country.
When it comes to two-bedroom units within the same type of rentals as above, the average rent in Calgary is shown to be $2,121, while in Lethbridge it is $1,375 making Lethbridge $746 cheaper than Calgary and $769 cheaper than the national average.
When it comes to a provincial overview of apartment and condominium rentals, the difference in price is even bigger.
A one-bedroom apartment or condo in Calgary rents out at an average of $1,798, while in Lethbridge rent was $1,173, making it $625 cheaper to rent in Lethbridge.
A two-bedroom apartment or condominium in Calgary was shown to rent at $2,247, while in Lethbridge it was $1,381, making it $866 cheaper to rent in Lethbridge.
And for a three-bedroom apartment or condominium in Calgary average rent was $2,589, while in Lethbridge it was $1,477, making it $1,112 cheaper to rent here.
Nationally, Vancouver was ranked the most expensive place to rent in all categories with rents over $3,000 for a one-bedroom unit and nearly $4,000 for a two-bedroom unit.
When it comes to purpose-built apartment or condominium rentals, Vancouver shown rents of $3,037 for one bedroom, $3,981 for two bedrooms, and $4,604 for three bedrooms.
Saskatoon was ranked the cheapest when it comes to apartments or condominiums, with rents shown at $1,042 for one bedroom, $1,206 for two bedrooms and $1,417 for three bedrooms.
