Warrants have been issued for the arrest of two people who were caught in drug busts earlier this year.
The warrants were issued for Christina Lynn Guest and Brandon Douglas Rourke after they failed to show up for court Wednesday. A third individual charged in relation to the bust, Travis Robert Taylor, did not attend court either, but he was represented by duty counsel. His matter was adjourned to April 14 when a warrant may be issued if he fails to show up or doesn’t have a lawyer to represent him.
The three Lethbridge people were arrested Feb. 8 after police, sheriffs and the tactical unit raided a home in the 500 block of 19 Street South and a commercial business bay in the 1700 block of 31 Street North.
The suspects were arrested without incident, and during a search of the premises police seized drugs with a street value of about $3,000, including 34 grams of methamphetamine and 2.2 grams of psilocybin (mushrooms). Police also seized three firearms and ammunition, $1,900 in cash, considered the proceeds of crime, and stolen property, including a motorcycle and another vehicle with a total value of about $2,400.
Guest, 35, is charged with two counts of drug possession, possession of stolen property, possession of stolen property obtained by crime, two counts of careless use of a firearm, and two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. She was released from custody after a judicial interim release hearing with an initial court appearance for March 10, during which she was represented by duty counsel.
Rourke, 34, and Taylor, 30, also face charges for drug, weapon and property offences, and were released from custody shortly after their arrests and following judicial interim release hearings.
