FCSS, Chinook Sexual Assault Centre expand services to rural areas
By Lethbridge Herald on December 2, 2021.
Barons Eureka Warner Family and Community Support Services (BEW FCSS) and the Chinook Sexual Assault Centre (CSAC) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding to expand services to rural areas of southwestern Alberta.
In a press release, executive director Zakk Morrison of BEW FCSS said November 25 marked the start of 16 days of activism to end gender-based violence and “entering into this Memorandum of Understanding demonstrates our continued commitment to collaborate and work to create health and well-being in the communities we serve in southwest Alberta.”
“There is strength found in the sharing of information and in supporting access to services throughout the region” the release quotes Kristine Cassie, CEO of the CSAC, as saying.
“Learning from each other and promoting programming serves to welcome community members, offer a breadth of services and expand reach. We are truly thankful to BEW FCSS for this opportunity.”
The Memorandum of Understanding allows the CSAC to use space located in Coaldale, Taber and Raymond to meet with people who have been impacted by sexual abuse/assault. Together the agencies intend to collaborate on practices, training opportunities, sharing in best practices while maximising the use of agency and community resources.
