‘Friends! The Musical Parody’ coming to Lethbridge in new year
By medicinehatnews on October 27, 2021.
Fans of the hit TV show “Friends” will want to put Feb. 5 on their calendars.
That’s the night “Friends! The Musical Parody” will be staged twice at the Yates Centre with showtimes at 5:30 and 8:30 p.m.
Tickets for the off-Broadway hit go on sale Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Buyers can purchase them at the Ticket Centre locations in the Yates Memorial Centre and Enmax Centre or online at enmaxcentre.ca.
The parody “lovingly pokes fun at TV’s Friends, celebrating the adventures of your favourite group of 20-something friends as they navigate the pitfalls of work, life and love in 1990s Manhattan. It’s a typical day at New York’s only coffee shop, Central Perk, until an unexpected runaway bride enters the picture and kicks the whole gang out of second gear! The musical recreates our favourite moments from all 10 years of Friends through an uncensored, fast-paced, music-filled romp,” says a synopsis.
Recommended for audiences 13 and over, “Friends! The Musical Parody” is authored by Bob and Tobly Smith who also wrote parodies based on “Saved by the Bell,” “The Office” and “90210.”
