Remains of missing man found in Crowsnest Pass
By Lethbridge Herald on July 27, 2021.
After going missing over a month ago, the remains of Lane Tailfeathers were located last week and now his death is being deemed suspicious.
On Tuesday, Crowsnest Pass RCMP received a report from Alberta Fish and Wildlife of possible human remains that were located in a rural area.
Crowsnest Pass RCMP members attended and located what appeared to be human remains and as a result, Alberta RCMP Major Crimes attended along with RCMP Forensic Identification Services to examine the scene.
Further investigation resulted in the identification of the deceased as 35-year-old Tailfeathers, who was reported as missing since June 20.
The death is being treated as suspicious and Alberta RCMP Major Crimes have taken over carriage of this investigation.
On July 15, family and friends of Tailfeathers gathered at Galt Gardens for a vigil and to thank those who had taken part in searching for him.
On Sunday night in Fort Macleod, a rally was held for Tailfeathers by family and friends.
