A Calgary man arrested during a drug bust in Lethbridge nine months ago is no longer facing charges.
Samantar Hussein was charged last September with three counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of proceeds of crime, but the charges were withdrawn last week in Lethbridge provincial court after the federal Crown prosecutor told court there was no reasonable expectation for a conviction.
Hussein was charged Sept. 30 following a short-term investigation by the Lethbridge Police Priority Crimes Unit.
Police searched a southside apartment in the 900 block of 15 Street South, and reportedly seized about 148 grams of fentanyl, 132 grams of methamphetamine, 25 grams of crack cocaine, 148 grams of a drug buffing agent and more than $14,100 in cash. The combined value of the drugs was estimated to be about $40,000.
