The lawyer for a Lethbridge man arrested in May on several outstanding warrants, made a brief appearance in Lethbridge provincial court earlier this week.
Lethbridge lawyer Greg White attended the brief hearing for Andrew Glenn Whiteford, who remains in custody at the Lethbridge Correctional Centre.
Court was told defence still requires disclosure from the Crown’s office, and the matter was adjourned until Wednesday, ostensibly for a bail hearing. The Crown noted it is opposed to the accused’s release.
Whiteford was arrested on warrants for housebreaking to commit assault, and failing to comply with release conditions. A second person, Misty-Rae Visser, was also arrested the same day on several warrants, for offences including flight from police and possession of stolen property under $5,000. Visser, who has already appeared in court on the charges, is scheduled to appear again Friday.
