Storytellers in the city seeking a creative outlet have a new one thanks to Telus Storyhive. For the first time, STORYHIVE has launched an open call for grants to support the creative endeavours of people in Alberta and British Columbia.
A minimum of 50 grants, worth $5,000 each, are going to be awarded to filmmakers and others. A maximum of 150 grants may be given to artists depending upon demand, said Telus in a press release.
The grants are open to people active in a range of creative activities from filmmaking, gaming, livestreaming, vlogging or even videos about subjects as fitness, fashion or cooking.
According to the release, Storyhive “is seeking rural perspectives with grants set aside for the following regions: Grande Prairie, Lethbridge, Fort McMurray, Medicine Hat, Red Deer, Penticton, Kamloops, Vernon, Prince George, Nanaimo, Terrace, Fort St.John, Edmonton and Calgary.  Interested creators can submit their project applications at Storyhive.com.
