CP NewsAlert: Charges stayed on Saskatchewan cult leader Romana Didulo
By Canadian Press on March 18, 2026.
SWIFT CURRENT, SASKATCHEWAN, CANADA — Crown prosecutors have stayed charges against a cult leader whose group made life miserable for residents of a Saskatchewan village.
Romana Didulo had been charged with failing to comply with an undertaking and intimidating a justice system participant.
The charges stemmed from a police raid last September at a decommissioned school in the village of Richmound, west of Regina.
Didulo, who calls herself the Queen of Canada, and her followers had been using the school as their home for two years.
Community members have said cult members harassed and threatened them.
The school building was later ordered closed for health reasons amid reports of open sewage.
More coming.
