Ski season saved at Le Massif ski resort in Quebec after workers accept new deal

By Canadian Press on January 22, 2026.

MONTREAL — A major Quebec ski resort that has been shut down because of a labour dispute will resume operations on Saturday after unionized employees voted in favour of a new deal.

The CSN union representing the workers at Le Massif de Charlevoix says its members voted 91 per cent in favour of a deal proposed by a mediator.

The 300 or so workers had been striking since Jan. 2, with wages as the main sticking point.

The union says the new five-year deal includes annual raises of between three and five per cent.

The resort announced Monday that it had cancelled the rest of the season after failing to come to an agreement with its employees.

But the resort says the new deal addressed the concerns of both parties and will allow the rest of the season to be saved.
