By Canadian Press on September 3, 2025.
VICTORIA — A helicopter carrying a wildfire attack crew had to make a forced landing in a forested area near Pemberton, B.C., on Wednesday.
Forests Minister Ravi Parmar says he’s relieved that all occupants are accounted for and there are no critical injuries.
Cliff Chapman, the director of provincial operations for the BC Wildfire Service, says a pilot and three wildfire staff members were on board.
Parmar says it happened as the attack crew was responding to a wildfire south of Pemberton, about 150 kilometres northeast of Vancouver.
Parmar says first-responder agencies were at the site of the crash.
The Transportation Safety Board says it has been notified about the incident and will assess the next steps it might take.
