CP NewsAlert: Following destructive wildfires, New Brunswick reopens forest access

By Canadian Press on August 25, 2025.

New Brunswick is lifting most of the restrictions it had imposed on access to Crown land.

The provincial government had banned public access to forests to reduce the risk of more wildfires erupting.

Officials say the ban will lift at 12:01 a.m.

However, a restriction remains in place on some forest industry activities on Crown land.

The province is also maintaining its burn ban.

New Brunswick’s online dashboard says there are 18 active wildfires, including three that are out of control.
