Candlelight vigil underway for victims of Toronto-area fatal condo shooting

VAUGHAN, Ont. – A candlelight vigil is underway outside the city hall in Vaughan, Ont., to honour the victims of a deadly condo shooting.

Dozens of people are at the vigil, braving the cold weather, some holding lit candles, others flowers.

York Regional Police have said a 73-year-old man who was in a lengthy dispute with his condo board killed three board members and two of their partners on Sunday night before he was shot dead by an officer.

Police have identified the victims as Rita Camilleri, Vittorio Panza, Russell Manock, Helen Manock, and Naveed Dada.

Lucy Derasmo, who says she was good friends with Camilleri and Panza, is at the vigil and says they were a wonderful couple.

Derasmo says Camilleri was an outgoing, generous, sweet and compassionate woman who loved dancing and parties.
