At a recent Prairie Rose Public Schools board meeting, trustees received the newest capital plan, outlining priorities through to 2030. The plan, says PRPS, considers enrolment trends, facility conditions, transportation and school utilization across the division. As of plan approval, most rural schools are roughly 50-60 per cent utilized, while Eagle Butte High School is operating at around 92 per cent capacity. Priority projects include a new school for Grades 7-9 in Redcliff, consolidation of Oyen Public School and South Central School into a new K-12 facility, a replacement for the aging Burdett School and a proposed expansion to address enrolment pressures at EBHS. Value scoping has also taken place for the Oyen project, with early indications supporting construction of the new facility over modernizing Oyen Public School and South Central School. 6
