Cole Johnson-Whitfield is facing several charges after he was arrested by Mounties in Brooks on Tuesday carrying a knife, breaching court issued release conditions.

RCMP were notified earlier this week of Johnson-Whitfield being in Brooks, despite court-ordered conditions prohibiting him from being in the city and attending a residence of a known associate of Johnson-Whitfield located on the west end of Brooks.

While speaking with the homeowners police say they located a vehicle matching the suspect’s description parked in the back alley, and shortly apprehended Johnson-Whitfield after discovering his location.

Johnson-Whitfield was charged with three counts of failure to comply with a release order, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and uttering threats.

He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court Mar. 19.
