newsdesk@medicinehatnews.com The City of Medicine Hat launched an app Thursday to help residents plan trips on city transit. The MHTapp combines Medicine Hat Transit’s regular and on-demand transit services into an all-in-one travel hub. “Medicine Hat Transit is committed to providing quality tools which support reliability and value for our riders in everything we do,” said Gordon Dykstra, manager of transit services. The new app will also offer users rider alerts and live updates, including road conditions, schedule changes and regular route adjustments. The latest service impacts will be delivered to users in real time. “With the launch of the MHTapp we’re making transit simpler, smarter and more connected. This gives our riders the freedom to plan their journey with confidence and make transit travel across the city more efficient than ever,” said Dykstra. The MHTapp will provide several trip options, including bus stop locations and departure times, allowing users to select the trip that suits their schedule. It will also tell users where to wait and when to expect the bus. Users can elect to receive a text to notify them when buses are due to arrive. The MHTapp is available as a mobile app or online. 10
