Parents and guardians of students in Grades 4, 7 and 10, as well as teachers, have been given more time to participate in the annual Alberta Education and Childcare Assurance survey.

The survey, which is also sent to parents and staff of students from Grade 4-12 in schools with fewer than 120 students, has been extended to Friday, Mar. 13.

The AECA survey gathers feedback for the province on the quality of education provided by their school authorities.

Topics include student growth and achievement, teaching and leading, learning supports and governance and use the same questions each year so a value of how schools are performing over time can be measured.

All responses to the survey are anonymous, and results are sent back to local school divisions for the purpose of future planning and reporting.

The government says a Random Access Code will be sent to parents online and all responses to the survey are anonymous. This code is randomly generated and cannot be used to identify individuals.
