Scottish singer Iona Lane to play at public library March 6

The Medicine Hat Public Library has announced the next in an ongoing Home Routes Concert Series, Scottish singer Iona Lane.

Lane will visit MHPL on Mar. 6,at 7 p.m., bringing with her some of her new album, “Swilkie.” Lane boasts poetic lyrics and deeply atmospheric melodies, all tied in with a a strong sense of place grounded in her three artist residencies on the Isle of Eigg, the Isle of Mull and Sanday in Orkney, bringing to life imagery of “lighthouses, curlews, basking sharks, lichen and disappearing islands,” MHPL says in the announcement.

Tickets are available for $10, or $24 for three, all available at the library’s information desk. Half the proceeds for this concert will be donated to the Medicine Hat Women’s Shelter Society.

The final concert in the series will be Kaeley Jade on Apr. 12.
