Tax penalty deadline approaching for Brooks residents

The City of Brooks has released a reminder of upcoming penalties that will be applied to residents with outstanding taxes.

A 4 per cent penalty will be applied to all outstanding tax accounts after Feb. 28, and city staff have provided several ways to make payments before the deadline.

Payments can be made in person at the City of Brooks office during normal daytime hours. There is also a night deposit box located on the north side of the building to drop off payments after hours.

Payments postmarked later than Feb. 28 will be honoured by the city to avoid penalties.

The city also accepts online and telephone banking payments that can be made over the internet or at most financial institutions, and will accept credit card payments using a secure third-party system, however fees will apply.
