newsdesk@medicinehatnews.com Next Wednesday business owners and employers in Medicine Hat are invited to participate in a free virtual workshop designed to help recruit, retain and support employees with disabilities. The hour-long workshop titled “Inclusive by Design” runs Feb. 25 and will provide participants information about disability awareness concepts, implementing workplace accommodations and onboarding and recruitment techniques. Sean McEwen, founder of RealEyes Capacity Consultants, has spent 20 years working on disability awareness, Indigenous equity and psychological health and safety, and will host the online workshop in partnership with Hire for Talent. “Employers can attract top talent and build stronger organizations by fostering inclusive environments,” reads an overview. The workshop will also provide practical tips for retaining employees from diverse backgrounds and strategies for creating an accessible and inclusive workplace.
