Local business owner charged in sexual offence involving youth

Arpit Dave, 38, of Medicine Hat faces two charges following an investigation into a sexual offence involving a youth last year.

Police say Dave allegedly engaged in sexual contact with a youth who was employed by him at a business located in the 1800 block of Strachan Road between September and December 2025.

As a result of the investigation, Dave has been charged with sexual assault and sexual contact with a child.

Dave has since been released on an undertaking with conditions and is scheduled to appear before the court Feb. 11.

“The MHPS recognized the serious and sensitive nature of offences involving children and remains committed to conducting thorough investigations while respecting the privacy and well-being of victims,” reads a press release.
