MHIP scavenger hunt, hot dog roast part of Kiwanis Club Family Day festivities

By Medicine Hat News on January 22, 2026.

Sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Medicine hat, the 18th annual Family Day celebration returns to Police Point Park this February.

The Kiwanis Club has shown a strong commitment to children and families in Medicine Hat for more than 100 years, supported even further this year by the City of Medicine Hat’s Community Vibrancy Grant.

Residents are invited by the Medicine Hat Interpretive Program to participate in a free scavenger hunt at Police Point Park on Feb. 16, with the chance to win prizes. For $8, visitors can also create their own wildlife kits to provide local birds with food and shelter and help make Medicine Hat a more bird-friendly city.

Complimentary cookies and hot chocolate will be provided by the Kiwanis Club, or guests can roast a hot dog over an open fire for $1.

The event will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Both the Kiwanis Club of Medicine hat and MHIP hope to see many families there for the festivities.
