Comedy for the Games event will support Special Olympics

By Medicine Hat News on January 20, 2026.

Supporting the upcoming Special Olympics Canada Summer Games, comedians Adam Growe and Todd Ness will be taking the stage at the Esplanade.

Both Growe – the host of Cash Cab – and comedy festival regular Ness will be in the city March 8 for the event. The show will consist of a trivia-comedy segment with Growe in which attendees will enjoy both humour and a chance to wish cash and prizes, followed by Ness’s unique which regularly sees him as a headlining act across the country.

Proceeds from the show will go toward the Games and attending will help to build excitement toward the coming event, which is slated for August 11-15.

The Medicine Hat Alberta Games Society is proud to host the Special Olympics Canada Summer Games Medicine Hat 2026, which anticipates bringing in more than 1,700 athletes, coaches and officials from across Canada, as well as generating more than $12 million in economic impact for the region.

Progress continues toward the million-dollar fundraising goal for the games, something residents can contribute to by purchasing a ticket to the upcoming Comedy for the Games. Tickets will go on sale Jan. 21 at tixx.ca for those with a pre-sale code, then to the general public Jan. 23 at $50 each.
