newsdesk@medicinehatnews.com Parents and guardians of public school students will be able to begin registering children for the next school year at 7 a.m. on Feb. 3. An email will be automatically sent to parents of students currently registered within the Medicine Hat Public School Division with links to register for the 2026-’27 school year. Parents will need to access their PowerSchool Parent Portal account to register their children, and are asked to log into their accounts before registration emails are sent to avoid any log-in issues. The school division says its online registration system works best from a laptop or desktop computer using a Chrome web browser. Parents planning to add a new child to the school division are asked to create a PowerSchool Parent Portal account which can be made by contacting the school directly. The school division has also posted a boundary map for parents. Changes will affect parents of Webster Niblock and Southview schools following the announcement of closure last week. Public students will also be able to register to a variety of optional programs offered at schools like Crestwood STEM and Dr. Ken Sauer, as well as the school division’s hockey and ringette academy. Links to access PowerSchool can be found on the division’s website. 10
