newsdesk@medicinehatnews.com With the Holiday Season in the rearview in the Hat, the City of Medicine Hat has several locations available for Christmas tree disposal. Real trees can be dropped off at one of three bulk recycling depot locations across the city until Jan. 30. Hatters are asked to remove all tinsel, decorations, plastic bags and stands from trees prior to delivering them to the depot. Depots are available at the following locations: – Northlands Co-op Recycling Depot: 20 Northlands Way – Kipling Street Recycling Depot: 240 Kipling St. – Southwest corner of the Medicine Hat Mall parking lot: 3292 Dunmore Rd. Artificial trees cannot be recycled as part of this program, nor in the Circular Materials blue recycling cart service. Artificial trees that are no longer usable or fit to be donated should be discarded in grey waste collection carts or taken to the landfill. More information on the tree disposal service is available on the Recycle Coach App or online at medicinehat.ca/landfill. You can also contact Environmental Utilities at 403-529-8176 with further questions. 12
