Applications open for net window of Community Vibrancy Grants

The 2026 application period for the city’s Community Vibrancy Grant opened Monday.

The Community Vibrancy Grant is designed to support community and activity projects that bolster community spirit, contribute to quality of life and enhance a sense of belonging to the community.

Only one funding stream is available for 2026, the Community Projects and Activities stream. There is $55,000 in funding available during this window. Minimum and maximum amounts for individual grants have not been established.

Eligible projects must take place within city limits, support one or more of the objectives outlined above and reflect the spirit of council’s Strategic Plan. Applications must be not-for-profit in nature and be submitted by individuals and organizations who live in or around Medicine Hat.

The application window will be open until Feb. 6 at 3 p.m.

Applications for the Annual Festivals and Special Events stream, designed for larger-scale, will be accepted in the summer of 2027 for festivals and events occurring in 2028 and 2029.

Two-year funding is available for this stream.
