A 36-year-old man faces multiple charges after a lengthy fraud investigation in Oyen.

The investigation was initiated in October following reports that a local company had one of its combines repossessed. Officials with the company told the RCMP they believed the repossession was the result of a forged bill of sale.

Following an investigation in collaboration with Leader RCMP, Ryan Michael Bennett was arrested and charged with forging a document, uttering a forged document and seven counts of fraud over $5,000.

Bennett formerly resided in the MD of Acadia.

Bennett is scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Hanna on Jan. 28.
