newsdesk@medicinehatnews.com Families of current students attending Medicine Hat Catholic Board of Education schools should receive online registration forms for the 2026-27 school year via email beginning in the last week of January. Through this email parents will be able to use PowerSchool Parent Portal and follow instructions to add each student separately. The division is asking parents to log into their PowerSchool Parent Portal before emails are sent to mitigate any login issues which may occur. Parents without a PowerSchool Parent Portal account or needing a password reset are asked to contact the student’s school directly. Parents who are guardians for new students looking to register into the division will be required to create an online account with the school division portal website. This can be found by visiting mhcbe.ab.ca and scrolling to the New Student Registration information. Parents are asked to have a clear digital photo copy of students’ information, including a birth certificate or proof of citizenship documents for registration, as they cannot be fully accepted without proper documents. Once the application has been received and reviewed parents will be contacted directly by the school to confirm student registration. Registration can be done online on a computer and on a smartphone over the internet but cannot be completed through the PowerSchool App itself. 11
