High school artists on display at Nature Centre for annual exhibit

Young artists from around the city will have their work displayed at the Nature Centre this month, all inspired by the natural world.

Art students from Medicine Hat’s three high schools – Crescent Heights, McCoy and Hat High – were invited to create anything they wished, with the sole instruction that it must be inspired by nature, said the Medicine Hat Interpretive Program. The result is a mixed-medium gallery that is an annual highlight for many visitors to the park.

A reception for the display is set for Jan. 8, starting at 7p.m. Everyone is welcome to come by to see the various works, even if they are yet unfamiliar with any of the young artists, and to enjoy complimentary refreshments at the come-and-go style reception.

For those unable to attend that night, the art will remain on display until Jan. 31.
