Operating hours altered at city facilities over next week-plus

The City of Medicine Hat will see building and operations closures through the final days of 2025.

City hall will be closed Dec. 25-28 and open for regular hours Dec. 29-31. It will be closed Jan. 1 and open again for regular hours Jan. 2.

There will be no waste collection Dec. 25 and 26, collection will resume Dec. 29 with Zone 4. No collection will happen Jan. 1 and service will resume Jan. 2 in Zone 2.

The landfill will be closed Dec. 25-26 before resuming normal hours Dec. 27-31. After a Jan. 1 closure, it will resume regular hours on Jan. 2.

Transit services will run Dec. 24 from 6:45 a.m. to 6:45 p.m., no buses will run Dec. 25 and 26. Regular service will resume before a shutdown on Jan. 1, buses run regular time starting Jan. 2.

The Big Marble Go Centre will be open until 4 p.m. Dec. 24, closing on Dec. 25. It will be open on Boxing Day noon to 5 p.m. and run regular hours Dec. 27-30. The centre will be open New Years Eve until 4 p.m. and on Jan. 1 from noon to 5 p.m. before resuming normal hours Jan. 2.

The Esplanade will be closed Dec. 25, 26, 28 and 29, open for regular hours on Dec. 27. It will be closed Jan. 1, 4 and 5, open regular hours Jan. 2-3 and resuming regular hours Jan. 6.

Co-op Place will be closed Dec. 25-27, open Dec. 28 from noon to 6 p.m. as the Medicine Hat Tigers host the Red Deer Rebels for a 4 p.m. game. Regular hours will run Dec. 29-31, closed for New Year’s Day before opening Jan. 2 for the Tigers’ 7 p.m. game against the Moose Jaw Warriors. Co-op Place will be closed Jan. 3-4 before resuming normal hours Jan. 5.

Crestwood Rec Centre will remain open on Dec. 24 until 4 p.m., closed for Dec. 25 and 26. It will be open normal hours Dec. 27-30 and remain open until 4 p.m. on Dec. 31. After a Jan. 1 closure, the Rec Centre will resume normal hours on Jan. 2.

The Kinplex will be closed Dec. 24-26, open regular hours Dec. 27-30 before closing Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, resuming normal operations on Jan. 2.

The Moose Rec Centre and Hockey Hounds Arena will both be closed Dec. 22 to Jan. 2, resuming regular hours on Jan. 3.
