Woman killed in Magrath after being struck by semi truck

One woman was declared dead at the scene of a pedestrian collision in southern Alberta on Monday.

RCMP from the Raymond/Magrath detachment responded to First Street W in Magrath on reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a semi. Magrath Fire and EMS were already on scene when officers arrived.

Investigation has revealed that the pedestrian was walking along the side of the semi and stepped in front of the truck as the driver pulled away, resulting in the collision. While investigation continues, the 42-year-old female resident of Magrath was declared dead on scene.

RCMP sends condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
