asmith@medicinehatnews.com Medicine Hat’s Animal Pound Services are once again open after closing due to confirmation of feline parvovirus. The facility was placed in a 10-day isolation period after a weak-positive result was found on an admitted kitten. During this period, staff isolated and monitored any cats who may have been exposed to the kitten to reduce the risk of transmission between animals. As of writing, all services have resumed to their standard level. The city stated in an update that it “appreciate[s] the public’s understanding and support while this matter was responded to in a timely, thorough manner.” 6
