Watershed Explorers return Dec. 7 for second instalment of Nature Centre program

By Medicine Hat News on November 28, 2025.

The second session in the Watershed Explorers series is right around the corner, looking into what animals do during the winter.

The six free programs, aimed at children aged 6-12, explore different aspects of the local watershed. Participants will earn a different badge for attending each program and will win a prize for collecting all six.

Meeting in Kin Coulee Park on Dec. 7 from 2-3 p.m, this guided walk will take a closer look at the animals that live in and near creeks, ponds and rivers and what they are doing during the coldest months of the year.

Registration is required for this free program as space is limited and youths must be accompanied by an adult. As the weather has turned, those participating are asked to dress for the conditions as this program does take place outside.

To register, call 403-529-6225 or come down to the Nature Centre.
