By Medicine Hat News on November 27, 2025.

Prairie Rose Public Schools held its public board meeting Tuesday, looking toward the future of education for rural youth in the region.

Work has begun preparing the land for the new Yuill School of Agriculture building, says assistant superintendent Boyd Craven.

Discussions are also underway with Medicine Hat College and SAIT to develop dual credit opportunities for the program.

Audited financial statements for the 2024-2025 school year were reviewed and approved. Total revenues for the year reached $63.44 million, with increases in provincial funding, school fees and community donations. Expenses for the year totalled $62.86 million.

This resulted in an annual surplus of $580,624, with cash balances across the division and schools increased to $10.78 million, and total capital assets reached $48.2 million.

The board also approved a new school name and requested a new school code for the CASA Mental Health Program, which will be located in the Redcliff Mennonite Alternative Program building and launched in February 2026.
