AwareMHAB plans protest outside local MLA office

A protest is planned Saturday outside Cypress-Medicine Hat MLA Justin Wright’s office in opposition of the government’s usage of the notwithstanding clause to force teachers back to work and then push through laws on transgender kids.

A post circulating on Facebook originating from the group AwareMHAB states that organizers seek “100 people in Medicine Hat that are willing to take a stance against this government” to support the trans community and teachers, who recently had an unwanted contracted imposed and faced hefty fines if they didn’t end province-wide strike action.

The protest is stated from 11 a.m. to noon at 1299 Trans-Canada Way.
